Kurzbeschreibung:

Auf Grund der weltweiten demografischen Veränderungen rückt die optimale Versorgung älterer Menschen (≥ 65 Jahre) im Krankenhaus schrittweise in den Mittelpunkt. Im Fokus dabei stehen die Verbesserung des Gesundheitszustandes und die Förderung der Gesundheit, um den Verlust der unabhängige Ausübung einer oder mehrerer Aktivitäten des täglichen Lebens zu verhindern (Christ & Metzler, 2019; Ellis, Whitehead, Robinson, O'Neill, & Langhorne, 2011; Huang, Larente, & Morais, 2011; Mate, Berman, Laderman, Kabcenell, & Fulmer, 2018; B. Parke et al., 2017; Belinda Parke & Brand, 2004; Souza, Beleza, & Soares, 2019; João Tavares, Grácio, & Nunes, 2017). Die Patientengruppe von Menschen ≥ 65 Jahre ist durch die Komplexität altersentsprechender Erkrankungen besonders vulnerabel (Boltz, Parke, Shuluk, Capezuti, & Galvin, 2013; Ellis et al., 2011; Mate et al., 2018; Belinda Parke & Brand, 2004; World Health Organization, 2019) und benötigt zusätzlich häufigere und längere Aufenthalte in Krankenanstalten (Ahmadi, Seyedin, & Fadaye-Vatan, 2015; Boltz et al., 2013; Chiou & Chen, 2009; Christ & Metzler, 2019; Huang et al., 2011; B. Parke & Stevenson, 1999; Souza et al., 2019).

Dieses EU-weite Projekt sucht die Kooperation mit NICHE (Nurses Improving Care for Healthsystem Elders) da es sich bei diese Organisation um ein führendes pflegerisches Ausbildungsprogramm handelt, welches Gesundheitseinrichtungen durch den Einsatz des „Geriatric Institutional Assessment Profile“ bei der Verbesserung der Pflege älterer Erwachsener unterstützt.

Das „The Geriatric Institutional Assessment Profile“ testet die Bereitschaft der Krankenanstalten, altersgerechte Pflege anzubieten und bietet zusätzlich dem Pflegepersonal die Möglichkeit praxisrelevante Hindernisse zu erkennen wodurch gezielt Veränderungen auf unterschiedlichen organisatorischen Ebenen (Personalentwicklung, Pflegemodelle, Richtlinien) ermöglicht werden (Boltz, Capezuti, Kim, Fairchild, & Secic, 2010; Cacchione, 2020; Kim et al., 2007; Squires, Murali, Greenberg, Herrmann, & D'Amico C, 2019; Joao Tavares & Silva, 2013).

Das Ziel dieses Projektes ist es, ein wissenschaftlich fundiertes Instrument an den österreichischen Sprachgebrauch anzupassen, hinsichtlich der psychometrischen Güte zu testen um eine altersgerechte Versorgung, bei welcher der alternde Mensch und seine Bedürfnisse im Mittelpunkt stehen (Fulmer, 2018; Wang & Hardman, 2017) zu ermöglichen.

Das Projekt verfolgt während des Übersetzungsprozesses einem systemischen Ansatz (Squires et al., 2012) und zieht zur Überprüfung der inhaltlichen Validität sprachübergreifende Forschungsmethoden (Squires, Sadarangani, & Jones, 2020) heran.
