Family care across the life course

This research area focuses on how illness and care affect families or individual family members across the life course and how the affected individuals deal with the emerging challenges. The focus is on the family as a care context and as a system that encompasses individual and collective responses to illness und care. This includes chronic as well as acute illnesses. A central topic at the department is on children and adolescents, both as those affected by illness within and in their role as caregivers (young carers).
