Short Introduction:

The aim of the project is to identify, describe and compare Young Carer programs in Austria. This involves a) conducting a comparative and descriptive study of formal services for Young Carers in Austria, b) analyzing their target group orientation and c) mapping existing projects in Austria. Children and young people with caring responsibilities as well as various stakeholders in child and youth work should be provided with an overview of low-threshold support services.

The project takes place in cooperation with the non-profit organization AllesClara and Two Next inclusion - an organisation for the promotion of social, digital and financial inclusion, and is embedded in an FFG-funded project (link to ffg.at/programm/WirksamWerden). In a joint research and innovation process, the aim is to find out how existing and future support services for Young Carers can be designed to meet the target groups and their needs. The goal of the overall project is to develop and promote support services tailored to the target group, to develop an initial prototype as a practical solution and to raise awareness of the issue of Young Carers in Austria.
